The Meat Joint opened in 2006, and is a farm-based, award winning butchery designed to prepare quality lamb and Gloucester Old Spot pork for direct sale and through farmers' markets.
The butchery at Iron Down Farm is located in an old stone building which was converted with help from a DEFRA grant to a state-of-the-art cutting room with adjoining chiller. The accent is on minimal stress both in handling animals on the farm and in transportation.
Professional butchers handle all meat cutting work on lambs, beef and pigs which are slaughtered at nearby Witney.
